Wise Virgins

The Lord Jesus once told the parable of the ten virgins, among which five wise virgins welcome the Lord and feast with the Lord while five foolish virgins fail to welcome the Lord and are abandoned by God. Then do you know what kind of people are the wise virgins who welcome the Lord and what kind of people are the foolish virgins who fail to greet the Lord? Today we will discuss the difference between the wise virgins and the foolish virgins so that you will not miss the chance to welcome the Lord’s return.

The Lord Jesus said, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me” (John 10:27). Revelation prophesies, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me” (Revelation 3:20).

God says, “All who are able to obey the present utterances of the Holy Spirit are blessed. It does not matter how they used to be, or how the Holy Spirit used to work within them — those who have gained the latest work of God are the most blessed, and those who are unable to follow the latest work today are eliminated. God wants those who are able to accept the new light, and He wants those who accept and know His latest work. Why is it said that you must be a chaste virgin? A chaste virgin is able to seek the work of the Holy Spirit and understand the new things, and moreover, able to put aside old notions, and obey the work of God today.

The word of God conveys an important message to us: With regard to welcoming the Lord, the wise virgins are vigilant and prepare oil, focusing on listening to the voice of God. As soon as they hear the voice of God, they can put aside their notions and imaginings, seek the new work of the Holy Spirit, accept and obey God’s work and word of the new age and follow the footsteps of the Lamb. Just like when the Lord Jesus did His work back then, the Samaritan woman, Peter, and Nathanael, because of hearing the words of the Lord Jesus, recognized Him as the coming Messiah and then followed Him, thereby receiving the Lord’s blessing.

On the contrary, the foolish virgins neither focus on listening to God’s voice nor examine God’s current work; they only cling to the letters of the Bible and their conceptions and imaginings. Eventually, they fall into darkness and are abandoned by the Lord. It is just like the earliest Pharisees and the Jewish people who did not seek or investigate regardless of how much authority and power the Lord Jesus’ work had. They even fanatically resisted and condemned the Lord Jesus, and finally crucified the Messiah who had come, thus being cursed and punished by God.
