The Mystery of “the Tree of Life” Prophesied in Revelation Has Been Unveiled
It is prophesied in Revelation, “In the middle of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bore twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations” (Revelation 22:2). Reading this prophecy, many true believers in the Lord are looking forward to entering the heavenly kingdom and eating the fruit of the tree of life and receiving everlasting life. Then is “the tree of life” prophesied in Revelation really the material tree we imagine? What exactly does “the tree of life” refer to? The word of God has unlocked this mystery.
God says, “In the human view, there are many kinds of physical trees, but no one has ever laid eyes upon the tree of life. However, despite seeing it today, people still do not recognize it — and yet, they even speak of eating from the tree of life. It truly is ridiculous! They would eat from it indiscriminately! Why do I say that today people see it but do not recognize it? Why do I say that? Do you understand the meaning of My words? The practical God Himself of today is the person that I am, and He is the tree of life. Do not use human notions to measure Me. On the outside, I do not look like a tree, but do you know that I actually am the tree of life? My every move, My speech, and My manner are the fruit of the tree of life …”
From God’s words, we come to know that “the tree of life” is not the material tree but refers to God Himself. The fruit of the tree of life is not the fruit of a material tree but refers to what God has and is, that is, God’s words and utterances.
Now, the Lord has already returned as Christ of the last days, and He has expressed the truth of millions of words and brought us the way of everlasting life. These truths are exactly the fruit of the tree of life. As long as we accept these truths, read these words every day, and put them into practice, then we can gain everlasting life. Just as God says, “Christ of the last days brings life, and brings the enduring and everlasting way of truth. This truth is the path by which man gains life, and it is the only path by which man shall know God and be approved by God.”
