I Have Finally Received the Lord’s Return

Welcoming God’s Appearance

Since I believed in the Lord, I have looked forward to His coming again to bring us to the kingdom of heaven at every moment for He ever said, “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to myself; that where I am, there you may be also” (John 14:3). And the Lord also taught us to be able to hear the voice of God and joyfully welcome the return of the Lord Jesus like the wise virgins. Therefore, I was responsible and serious in every piece of service in the church. In order to attend the worship on the Lord’s Day, I always put aside all the pleasure of the flesh to devote all of my mind and body to the service. I led my brothers and sisters to worship God together on the Lord’s Day, received them and prepared meals for them. I did all the things I could with all my strength. Because of my zealous service, both the old and the young in the church all praised me for being devout, and I was also proud of these, thinking that I would surely be taken into the kingdom of heaven when the Lord comes back.

One day in March, 2017, when Sister Li and I went for a spring outing, luckily we met Missionary Zheng and Brother Liu who came from China. Later on, we explored the Bible together. After hearing their explanation of it, I felt they preached very well, which made me understand a lot of the passages of the Bible that I hadn’t understood before and could help me grow in my spiritual life. Thereupon, I decided to invite them to my home and ask my intimate sisters to listen together. At the time, we investigated the Bible together, sought the question of the desolation of the church, fellowshiped about the fact that the prophecies in the Bible of the disasters in the last days were being fulfilled one by one and so on. I heard what they said was in line with the Bible, and was also in accordance with the present situation of the church and world developments. Afterward, Missionary Zheng bore testimony to God’s work of the last days for us, telling us that the Lord Jesus had already returned. On hearing this, with a start, I thought: What? The Lord has returned? I haven’t heard of this! How do they know that the Lord has returned? The Bible clearly states, “But of that day and that hour knows no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father” (Mark 13:32).

Missionary Zheng read my thoughts, so he opened the Bible to the Book of Matthew chapter 25, verse 6 and fellowshiped, “‘And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom comes; go you out to meet him.’ From this verse we can see that, it is certain that when the Lord Jesus returns, someone will know it. However, why does the Book of Mark chapter 13, verse 32 state, ‘But of that day and that hour knows no man’? In fact, when we combine Book of Matthew chapter 24 with verses 32 to 36, it becomes clear. The Lord Jesus said, ‘Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near: So likewise you, when you shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Truly I say to you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. But of that day and hour knows no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.’ These verses speak of the sign of the second coming of the Lord. From ‘it is near, even at the doors,’ we can know the Son of man is already at the doors, but when He will enter, the day, the moment He will enter, we don’t know. That’s to say, no one knows that day and hour; in other words, no one knows when the Son of man (the incarnate God) will come to the world, and namely, no one knows the day and moment when the Lord descends. The messengers in heaven don’t know, nor does the Son of man. Only the Father (the Spirit) knows. Just as Almighty God says, ‘At the break of dawn, unbeknownst to any, God came to earth and began His life in the flesh. People were unaware of this moment. Maybe they were all fast asleep, maybe many who were watchfully awake were waiting, and maybe many were praying silently to God in heaven. Yet among all these many people, not one knew that God had already arrived on earth’” (“Work and Entry (4)” in The Word Appears in the Flesh).

Then, he used an example to fellowshiped with me: When the Lord Jesus first appeared in the flesh to do the work of redemption, no one knew. Only when He started to perform His ministry to end the Age of Law and open up the Age of Grace did man know. After that, he mentioned that when Almighty God, Christ of the last days, comes, He will unlock the scroll, unveil the mysteries, and initiate new work. They also read many God’s words to me. Through God’s words they read and what they fellowshiped, I understood that when the Lord returns, He will initiate His new work, expressing the truth, revealing the mysteries of the sealed little scroll from the Book of Revelation, bringing the path of gaining purity and to change the disposition to us and so forth. I felt what they fellowshiped was in accord with the Bible and the word of the Lord Jesus, which made me feel bright in my heart. I thought: I must treat the appearance and work of the Lord Jesus seriously. I can neither jump to conclusions, nor nail the returned Lord Jesus to the cross once again just like the Pharisees of those days. I will earnestly seek and investigate.

The Crucifixion of Jesus Christ

During the course of investigating, when I heard that Missionary Zheng said that God is unique and the Trinity doesn’t exist, I blurted out, “What? The Trinity doesn’t exist? How can that be?” I thought to myself: When my mother spread the gospel to me, she told me that God was triune; after I came to France, my younger sister particularly advised me to believe in the Trinity; also, the pastor and preachers specially urged us not to leave the triune God. What’s more, the pastor also baptized me in the name of the Trinity of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. However, they actually denied the Trinity. This was completely unacceptable to me. Furthermore, the Lord Jesus once said, “Go you therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost” (Matthew 28:19). Would this not indicate that God is the one who is possessed of three persons?

In the following talk, regardless of whatever they talked about, I was unable to listen to. When I was in confusion, I had a pain in my temples as if they would explode. Especially at night, it hurt much. At that time, I even wished to run into the wall. Aside from the pain, I came in front of God to seek and pray, “Oh, Almighty God! Since I believed in You, I have believed in the Trinity, yet they said the Trinity doesn’t exist at all. Is my faith wrong? Oh, God! Beg You to enlighten and lead me to allow me to understand. Amen!”

Two days later, the brothers and sisters from The Church of Almighty God came again. They targeted my nations and read some God’s words to me, “Throughout many centuries, man has believed in this Trinity, conjured up by notions in the mind of man, fabricated by man, and never before seen by man. Throughout these many years, there have been many spiritual greats who have explained the ‘true meaning’ of the Trinity, but such explanations of the Trinity as three distinct consubstantial persons have been vague and unclear, and all are befuddled by the ‘construct’ of God. No great man has ever been able to offer a thorough explanation; most explanations pass muster in terms of reasoning and on paper, but not a single man has a fully clear understanding of its meaning. This is because this great Trinity man holds in the heart simply does not exist. (“Does the Trinity Exist?” in The Word Appears in the Flesh).

If any among you says that the Trinity indeed exists, then explain what exactly is this one God in three persons. What is the Holy Father? What is the Son? What is the Holy Spirit? Is Jehovah the Holy Father? Is Jesus the Son? Then what of the Holy Spirit? Is not the Father a Spirit? Is not the substance of the Son also a Spirit? Was not the work of Jesus the work of the Holy Spirit? Was not the work of Jehovah at the time carried out by a Spirit the same as Jesus’? How many Spirits can God have? According to your explanation, the three persons of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are one; if so, there are three Spirits, but to have three Spirits means there are three Gods. This means that there is no one true God; how can this kind of God still have the inherent substance of God? If you accept that there is only one God, then how can He have a son and be a father? Are these not all simply your notions? There is only one God, only one person in this God, and only one Spirit of God, much as it is written down in the Bible that ‘There is only one Holy Spirit and only one God.’ Regardless of whether the Father and the Son of which you speak exist, there is only one God after all, and the substance of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit you believe in is the substance of the Holy Spirit. In other words, God is a Spirit, but He is able to become flesh and live among men, as well as to be above all things. His Spirit is all-inclusive and omnipresent. He can simultaneously be in the flesh and throughout the universe. Since all people say that God is the only one true God, then there is a single God, divisible at will by none! God is only one Spirit, and only one person; and that is the Spirit of God. (“Does the Trinity Exist?” in The Word Appears in the Flesh).

When Jesus called God in heaven by the name of Father as He prayed, this was done only from the perspective of a created man, only because the Spirit of God had clothed Himself as an ordinary and normal man and had the exterior cover of a created being. Even if within Him was the Spirit of God, His exterior appearance was still that of an ordinary man; in other words, He had become the ‘Son of man’ of which all men, including Jesus Himself, spoke. Given that He is called the Son of man, He is a person (whether man or woman, in any case one with the exterior shell of a human being) born into a normal family of ordinary people. Therefore, Jesus calling God in heaven by the name of Father was the same as how you at first called Him Father; He did so from the perspective of a man of creation. Do you still remember the Lord’s Prayer that Jesus taught you to memorize? ‘Our Father in heaven….’ He asked all man to call God in heaven by the name of Father. And since He too called Him Father, He did so from the perspective of one who stands on an equal footing with you all. Since you called God in heaven by the name of Father, this shows that Jesus saw Himself to be on equal footing with you, and as a man on earth chosen by God (that is, the Son of God). If you call God ‘Father,’ is this not because you are a created being? However great the authority of Jesus on earth, prior to the crucifixion, He was merely a Son of man, governed by the Holy Spirit (that is, God), and one of the earth’s created beings, for He had yet to complete His work. Therefore, His calling God in heaven Father was solely His humility and obedience” (“Does the Trinity Exist?” in The Word Appears in the Flesh).

And then, they played the gospel movie Ironclad Proofs — Exploration of the “Trinity” for me to watch. Through reading Almighty God’s words and watching this gospel movie, I suddenly saw the light. Actually, the concept of the Trinity that I kept holding on to doesn’t exist at all. It certainly came from my imaginations and notions and was fallacy and the interpretation of offending God. And I also understood the true meaning of the Lord Jesus’ word in the Bible, “I am in the Father, and the Father in me” (John 14:10) and “I and my Father are one” (John 10:30). It turned out that the Father is the Lord Jesus, and the Lord is the Father. The Lord Jesus is the God of heaven, and when the God of heaven becomes flesh and comes to earth, the flesh is God Himself. God Himself is Spirit, the Lord Jesus is the Spirit realized in the flesh, and the Holy Spirit is spirit. Therefore, there is only one God, and is no such saying as person.

I suddenly felt that, I, just like Philip of the past, who didn’t know the Lord Jesus at all and even let the Lord Jesus show him the Father. The more I thought, the more awful I felt. I went so far as to have an unshakable belief in the God who didn’t exist but divided up the one true God. Wasn’t I offending God? When I realized it, I then knelt down as bitter tears ran down my face, and I repented to God, “Oh, God! I am too rebellious, and don’t have any knowledge of You. To allow us to easily accept, You speak from different perspectives in a humble and concealed way. But I didn’t know your humbleness and hiddenness; instead, according to my imaginations, I thought if there was the saying of the Father and the Son, then there could be the talk of the person. And then I separated You and believed in You as if You were the Trinity. Isn’t this blasphemous to You? God! If You didn’t become flesh again, open this mystery and allow me to understand, I would have still resisted and blasphemed You, being unaware that I was believing in a vague God….”

Thank the enlightenment and guidance of God’s word, my doubt within was finally removed. Unwittingly my headache was gone, and I had a feeling of peace and assurance. From then on, I lived a church life. As I read more and more God’s word, I completely confirmed Almighty God’s work in the last days, and saw that Almighty God is indeed the Lord I have looked forward to. The Lord has truly come back! Almighty God reveals the mysteries of His six-thousand-year management, which makes us really and truly see that, the Lord Jesus’ words “When he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth” are fulfilled. Thank Almighty God for His salvation to me!
